The core curriculum includes the four basic academic disciplines that provide the students essential educational needs: Math, English, Social Studies, and Science. Each subject consists of 12 PACEs. This set is a full year of curriculum.

Scope & Sequence:

• Math - In Grade 6 there is thorough and ongoing review of all basic math concepts, emphasis on mastering more difficult problems, concentrated study of fractions and decimals, and learning of Roman numerals through one thousand.
  
  
• English - The student continues studying grammar concepts and developing skills in sentence diagramming. There is special emphasis on sentence patterns, clauses, and kinds of sentences. The material reviews punctuation. outlining. letter writing, and paragraph structure and writing. The student learns to express himself clearly and must apply principles of composition learned earlier.
  
  
• Social Studies - The student studies from Adam through the Great Awakening. the course includes an introduction to Bible, early Church, and Reformation leaders.
  
  
• Science - More details and in-depth studies of subject matter previously presented includes: chemistry, light and electricity, magnets and magnetism. Students also study the central nervous system, skeletal and muscular sustems, internal organs, and germ theory of disease.

Literature & Creative Writing
This set teaches more about setting, character, plot, and order in short stores. Opportunities to paint word pictures with similes and metaphors are provided. Anagrams, analogies, and alliteration are also explored. Students practice reading, observing carefully, and considering facts to find conclusions. A full years curriculum consists of 12 PACEs. Required Resource Books are Fugitive King, Christians with Courage, Alexis Secret Mission, Grandpas Christmas Gift, Little Pilgrims Progress, and Treasures of the Snow. (Resource Books are not included in the complete set but can be purchased as an option)

Word Building
Your student will learn 65 spelling words in each PACE as he learns to utilize the dictionary. Among these words are homonyms, words with more than one definition, and easily confused words. Students also will learn to identify root words and learn how suffixes show tenses.
