English 2 teaches about sentences, nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, and reference skills.Students use the Writing Process to write personal stories, instructions, couplets and shape poems, book reports, friendly letters, make-believe stories, descriptions, and research reports.

Handwriting 2 reviews the PreCursive letters and presents an easy transition to cursive writing by simply adding a stroke to the letter. Scripture, poetry, recipes, and thank-you notes are used as cursive models.

Heritage Studies 2 continues the narrative of the birth of the United States, from the founding of Jamestown through the War for Independence and includes discussions about colonial farming, shopkeeping, and clothing. As a contrast to early America, the kings and queens of Europe during that period are described.

Math 2 uses manipulatives and real-life experiences to build number relationships with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Problem-solving lessons focus on graphs, two-step word problems, and probability as well as place value, money, and measurements.

Reading 2 If Skies Be Blue and When the Sun Rides High present compelling stories that encourage growth in Christian character. Systematic phonics instruction and thoughtful discussion questions emphasize reading comprehension that aims to produce thoughtful, fluent readers who will continue to read all their lives.

Science 2 presents God as the Sustainer of all He has created. Students learn to measure, evaluate, and record observations in their science journals/notebooks. Bones, plants, natural forces, light, shorelines, and the shape and movement of the earth are explained.

Spelling 2 reinforces the most reliable spelling patterns and introduces the most common structural generalizations (word families). Writing weekly journal entries allows students to apply what they are learning-both spelling and composition skills.
