DIVE Biology, 3rd edition is a teaching supplement for Bob Jones Biology, 3rd edition, and contains 39 lessons that cover the following topics: Biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, origins of life (includes lectures on the life of Charles Darwin, discussion of flaws in his theory, and new theories to replace evolution, such as intelligent design), classification, structure and function of major groups of organisms, ecology, human anatomy and physiology, endocrinology, and the miracle of life. Over 500 review questions are also provided to ensure that the student understands the most important concepts contained within each lesson. Review questions include problem solving, essay, fill in the blank, multiple choice, true/false, "connect the thoughts", and labeling of sketches and photographs. DIVE Biology is a CD-ROM that is designed to help you get organized with your teaching of science. The CD contains digital whiteboard lectures on biology topics that students typically have trouble understanding. Students are required to take notes off of the lectures, which gives them good preparation for college courses where taking good notes can mean the difference in passing or failing. Most of biology, however, deals with memorizing the structure and function of the major groups of organisms, and is not necessarily difficult to understand. Therefore, lectures are not provided with each lesson, so the student can spend this time memorizing important definitions, structures and their functions. Printable assignment sheets are provided with each lesson, and contain a list of definitions to complete, as well as review questions to complete after all reading, lectures, and definitions have been completed. Solutions to review questions are presented on the digital whiteboard so that you can see and hear a detailed explanation for the solution of each review question. The review questions can even be used to test your child, and if they make an 85% or better, then you can be confident that they have mastered the most important topics for high school biology.
