Saxon Math 65 (3rd Edition) expands upon Math 54. The student learns to apply mathematical tools and techniques to real-lie mathematical situations using word problems. Includes step-by-step development of whole-number concepts and computation, mental math, patterns and functions, measurements, mixed numbers, decimals, geometry, percents, and negative numbers.

At the middle grade levels, your child must begin to acquire independent learning skills and self-sufficiency. Saxon builds upon the manipulative-based activities of the K-3 kits, gradually shifting form the use of concrete objects to mathematical modeling and problem solving using pencil and paper. Students will learn to automate basic skills, successfully solve multi-step problems, strengthen mental math capabilities, and master fundamental concepts such as ratios, proportions, and percents.
