Growing up in church and having stayed active in church ministry, we have had the opportunity to see generation after generation decimated by secular education. Of all the kids that we have seen go through the churches we have been a part of, only a handful of them have survived into adulthood as committed Christians.
They’ve attended youth group and rallies, went to the retreats, and had great experiences but now as adults, where are they? What happened? And worse yet, why do we just accept it as part of life? If we as business were losing customers as fast as the American church is losing its kids, we would be going insane to stop it.
In a recent survey titled “Home Educated and Now Adults” compiled by Brian D. Ray, PhD. and the National Home Education and Research Institute, 94% of Homeschooled adults strongly agreed or agreed to the statement, “My religious beliefs are basically the same as those of my parents.”
That is the core of why we care. We are witnesses to the fact that as adults, we tend to hold the values, beliefs, and worldview of our educators. We cannot write off another generation of Christian kids as a loss to Christianity and a gain to secular humanism..
We believe the following to be true about Home Education based of our actual experience and research.
We believe in the importance of a “calling” and an “anointing” to carry out that call. We believe that the responsibility to educate a child is the God given call of the parent and that God has equipped and empowered (anointed) parents to be the best teacher their child will ever have.
We also believe that parents forfeit that calling when they place their child under the counsel of another and grant them the authority to teach their child.
We believe that in general, Homeschooled children receive a better education academically as well as the discipline, study skills, and life skills to excel in college, an apprenticeship, career, and life. Homeschooled children have the luxury of having their education customized to their learning style and interest.
We believe that Homeschooled children are better socialized than traditionally educated children. Homeschooled children are vertically socialized among different age groups as opposed to only being exposed to the same age group.
In addition to achieving the best results academically and socially, Homeschool is the most affordable way to educate a child. The average amount of money most Homeschooling families spend is $400 - $600 per year versus the many thousands of dollars needed per student for a public education.
We believe you can do it. Homeschooling has matured a lot in the last 20 years. We now have an unbelievable variety of curriculum to choose from along with turnkey, plug and play type solutions. We have more research, support, and legal assistance to help direct and support home educators.
If you are a seasoned Homeschooler, you know the benefits and we applaud you for the work you are doing. If you are new to Homeschooling and have any questions or just need a little support to get going, please to not hesitate to contact us using the form below or by calling us at 716-532-1888.
